| Deskripsyon | A dual choke (pair of coupled inductors on a common magnetic core) can be either a transformer, or a symmetric EMI suppression filter choke. The visual difference would be in the number of turns and the gauge of the wire. EMI chokes always have exactly identical coils, and are optimized for maximum suppression at typical EMI frequencies (100 Hz to 10 MHz, although the real difference is seen only below 1 MHz). This unit is quite likely an EMI choke (although still usable as a transformer in a switched-mode power supply). |
